AlphaESS UK Residential Customers Gain Access to Axle Energy’s VPP

AlphaESS UK, part of global energy storage provider AlphaESS, has partnered with Axle Energy to give eligible residential battery customers access to Axle Energy’s market-leading Virtual Power Plant (VPP), helping homeowners unlock additional value from their AlphaESS battery.

This partnership combines AlphaESS residential battery technology with Axle Energy's deep integration into UK energy markets, allowing eligible customers to earn £1/kWh by helping the grid - regardless of their energy supplier or tariff.

Axle Energy operates the UK's largest independent Virtual Power Plant (VPP), aggregating hundreds of thousands of distributed assets to provide flexibility to the grid in times of strain. AlphaESS batteries can now play their part, exporting energy when the grid is under pressure and soaking up excess renewable generation that would otherwise be wasted.

Eligible AlphaESS UK residential customers can also benefit from full automation with Axle Energy’s fully optimised mode, geared towards helping consumers save money on their bills whilst still being paid for the grid services their battery provides (£1/kWh, with minimum earnings of £10 a month).

AlphaESS UK and Axle Energy are also working closely with installers of AlphaESS residential systems to help them demonstrate the additional value that participation in the VPP can bring to homeowners. Installers also benefit from a referral scheme, receiving £25 for each customer referred (sign up here).

Eligible AlphaESS UK residential customers can sign up to earn £1/kWh here and can also find Axle within the AlphaESS App in the AlphaESS VPP Plans section of the App.
